I have a dark and shocking secret . . . I’m a sci-fi junkie. I’m also a Joss Whedon groupie and diehard “Browncoat.” So, last night while scouring Netflix streaming content for a little brain-dead time, I was delighted to stumble over one of my much beloved Whedon projects . . . Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. I snuggled in with evil Doogie and Captain Tight Pants for 42 minutes of bliss. I laughed, I cried (sure from laughing, but I cried nonetheless), I sang at the top of my lungs and generally had a great time.
Here are my five reasons to watch Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog:
- “It’s not about making money, it’s about taking money. Destroying the status quo because the status is not quo. The world is a mess . . . “
- “Any dolt with half a brain can see that humankind has gone insane . . . Listen close to everybody’s heart and hear that breaking sound.”
- “So you think justice has a voice and we all have a choice.”
- “It’s a symptom. You’re treating a symptom while the disease rages on, consumes the human race. The fish rots from the head, so they say. So I’m thinking, why not cut off the head?”
- “What a crazy random happenstance!”
I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you have an hour to blow, I highly recommend it. And remember, don’t “ignore the laugh . . . you have to have a memorable laugh.”
