It would appear that I’ve been given The Humorous Blogger Award by Art at Fishin’ for Chuckles.

The requirements are that I tell what impact humor has had on my life and then award the Cat’s Ass to another blogger whom I feel deserves it.

First, I’d like to pass this award on to
Pretty Feet, Pop Toe and Live, Nerd, Repeat.

Yes, I’m cheating giving it to two blogs instead of one, but let’s just call it a tie.

So, what impact has humor had on my life?  It started when I was in school, I was a bit of a smart ass.  Can you imagine that?  Miss D, a smart ass, never!  Well, I was.  Being a “school girl” – the PC term my daughter uses instead of nerd – I was more into academics than the social aspects of school.  My family didn’t have much money and I couldn’t afford stylish clothes or trending baubles, so to divert the often cruel things the “popular” kids would say, I used humor.  Sure, it’s a sarcastic whip of humor I used to lash them with, but it served to keep the wolves at bay.  They soon learned I had a sharp tongue and verbal battles with me only resulted in them looking more foolish than cool.  Humor has kept me safe through the years.  It is also how I connect with people.  It’s an integral part of who I am.  The bottom line . . . without humor, I wouldn’t be me.

Hope I didn’t bore you to death with this, but it’s done.  Go read my funny, blog friends!
